Things to do when you're 1 year old
Brush your teeth. Mom's been handling this one for awhile, but now I fight forthe toothbrush so I can show her how to get them pearly white!
Feed myself ravioli...YUM! See above picture for phase 2 of dinner...bath!
Try to convince fur friends to let me out of jail...no luck, but I'm still working on it!
Am a nice friend and let others use my hair as a balancing tool.

and the party goes on...
I love birthday parties! Granted, I've only had one so far, but it was great fun. I had most of my favorite people in the world there. I got to invite my buddy Grant and my Aggie friend Lauren came all the way from Houston. Baby Rachel even came, but I think she might have been a little bored because she slept most of the time. I missed my friends Avery and Will because they were sick, but I will tell them all about it next time I see them. We kicked off the party with a parade around the neighborhood which went off surprisingly well. Then back to my house for cake. I have only sampled a small tasting of cake before. Well, little did I know, you get a whole cake on your birthday! I loved it, so much that I even tried to share a bite with dad. After a quick hose down in the shower, I was off to open some great gifts. It was a wonderful day full of great memories. I can't wait until my 2 year old party, but mom says she can. This is one year old Luke signing off until next time!
Miss Jessica recommended a great cake lady and we give her two thumbs up! I especially like that she made me my very own smash cake.
Yay! Presents! I can't get enough of that tissue paper.
"Hey! Who's driving this flying umbrella?!"
Lauren and her mommy made a sign for the parade.
"Boys, just follow me and you won't get lost." ~ Lauren
Rachel felt this was the most comfortable way to participate in the parade.
All the mommies and my friends.
Having so much fun with my friends.
Getting the ok from Dad.
Sharing my cake with Dad....only a little piece though. The Birthday Boy!

Dear Luke Sawyer,
Hi my sweet baby boy! As I type this I know that you are quickly becoming my little boy and no longer my baby. Everyone warned me that you would grow up so fast and it’s so true. I will always cherish my memories of holding you for the first time and how I knew we were meant to be. You were so tiny (5 pounds, 13 ounces to be exact), but I knew you were safe in my arms. I suppose because I had you with me 24/7 for nine months that I felt I knew you already, but there was so much to learn. I loved the moments when you fell asleep in my arms and were as content as you could be and there was nowhere else in the world you wanted to be. I watched in amazement as you began focusing on different people and objects that caught your attention, but always seemed drawn to your dad and me. I was thrilled to see your first smile and to this day (and I suspect from here on out), that smile makes all the worries of the world disappear for a brief moment and is all that matters. It wasn’t long until you were putting anything and everything you could get your hands on in your mouth and having a hey day with all your toys. Little did I know the destruction a baby could create with a box of toys and a big room to spread them out in. And what a silly sweet personality you have. You love to scoot (or as we say “Row the boat”) all over the place and you have such charm when you tilt your head over to one side and flash the sweetest smile ever! Everyday I am so thankful that God blessed us with such a beautiful, happy and healthy baby. You have shown me a love I never knew, but wouldn’t trade for anything. I am humbled to know that God gives us a glimpse of His love for us through our relationship as parents, and I pray that one day soon you will understand His love and gift to you. Your father and I will always be there by your side to help you grow, learn and to support you. We love you so much sweet boy!
Love always and forever,
